December 2009 Highlights

December is my favorite month of the year. The Christmas bonus, the Christmas shopping, the Christmas gifts, the Christmas parties and all the Christmas preparations are some of the things that made me love this holiday season. Of course, stress and some unexpected problems are always there but hey set them aside for a while. They are just spices of life!

For this year, December is another milestone for me for some reasons/highlights:

►EB with Jeanny. Yeah! Finally, I was able to met Jeanny and had a wonderful chat with her last December 11. For my 31 years of existence, it was my first time to go on EB. At first, I was so afraid that I might just bore her. Mas madalas kasi akong tahimik. But hey, hindi ata kami nauubusan ng kwento at parang ang bilis lumipas ng oras.

►Won and received prize from kg’s contest. Thanks God coz kg added two more prizes on her contest and that randomizer favored me this time. I think my new pen name/nick name got me lucky here as well. Hehehe. Thank you so much kg for these:

►First Christmas at our new home. This year since it was our first time to celebrate Christmas at our new home, hubby and I decided to ask our family to join us. We let them traveled from the province to be with us on Christmas.

We prepared bags of candies & chocolates for the carolers. On the 24th of December, carolers started to arrive as early as six o’clock in the evening. KA enjoyed a lot. She entertained all the carolers. She danced as the carolers sang. And the funniest part, she shouted wala pang kanta…wala pang kanta…then she requested boom-tarat-tarat. After boom-tarat-tarat, ikaw na nga…ikaw na nga! Hehehe

Then, at around 8 o’clock (since maaga natutulog ang aking Santa Claus) I let her gave all the gifts.

For our Noche Buena we had bihon, sandwich, ham, fruit cake, chocolate cake and buko salad. Hubby and I also made sure that we had red wine for the ladies and alfonso for the heavy drinkers (my father & my father-in-law).

Though we only had a simple Christmas celebration at home, the joy/happiness brought about of being together for the celebration is immeasurable.

Hey guys, two more days to go and its Christmas day. I’m a little bit sad for some work related concerns but I rather not discuss it here because I know it is a season for happiness. And that the inspirational quote that was sent/emailed to me today says:

Tale of Gold

Childhood memories depict a complex landscape of fondling and adventurous happenings. Such are innocent faces with outmost energy for the lightness of life and the simplicity of things. What made it even more interesting are the stories of heroism, chivalry, fairytales and fantasy shared by the old ones for us to dream and be shielded from corrupting realities of hurt, discouragement and hopelessness. Consequently, I for one have nurtured interest for treasure hunting. The likes of Indiana Jones and The Mummy reminded me of the end-story of finding gold and the richness amidst the struggle.

Gold as symbol of the glory of life and the zenith over all sufferings has been my desire to achieve this very day. To find one seems an evasive reality. It will even take you a lifetime and expertise to master the craft of the search. Amidst these conditions, I have seen gold that is so obvious yet kept sealed from the chest of each ones blinded limitations. It is the gold in everyone. The unveiling of each precious individuality that deemed to celebrate amidst our differences. The gold that we hardly see for focus of non-essential things and for being of-this-world.

I know I still have the days of my life to find the golden ways of living and make myself a golden value to the order of destiny. I believe in the stories of my younger years that I can make, find and spread golden influence in my own special way. I know you can do it also for we are no different for being vulnerable, free and has the capacity to be gold.

i know i have to observe my diet now. a lot of people already told me na ang taba-taba ko na raw. but hey, i can't really resist to this temptation. i am a choco addict eh.

2009 has been a not so good year for me. It has been such a rollercoaster that there were lots of ups and downs. But it doesn’t mean that it’s a total failure for me. Of course I have a lot of things that should be thankful for.

I am thankful for the good health that me and my family have.

I am thankful for having an understanding, loving and caring husband.

I am thankful for having a smart daughter.

I am thankful for having a wonderful family.

I am thankful for the new house that we have.

I am thankful for all my friends that never fail to support me morally, spiritually and even financially.

I am thankful that during the typhoon Ondoy, my family and all my loveones were safe.

I am thankful that I still have a job despite the many challenges that came to our office.

I am thankful for having my blog and moving into the next level which is earning through blogging.

I am thankful for all the gifts that I received this year.

I am thankful for all the new books that I have and read.

I am thankful for surviving all the trials that I’ve encountered this year.

I am thankful for getting over those bad feelings and negative vibes that I encountered especially this last quarter of the year.

And of course, I am thankful because at the end of the day no matter how tough the situation is, I can still have a peaceful sleep.

Mathematics is the most hated or the least favorite subject by the students in school. With the number of students that I asked on what their favorite subject in school is, mathematics seems to be not their favorite. It’s sad to hear though that my favorite subject seems to be a very difficult subject to all the students that I asked. But every student needs to face the reality that he can’t really finish his studies without taking mathematics subject. Even my nieces and nephews said that they are having a hard time passing this particular subject.

Glad to hear that now a day there are online tutoring services being offered. Their services offered include those of math help and algebra help that everyone can use from the comfort of their own home, with a lot of lessons and techniques from basics to the most difficult problems that they might encounter. Now students can spend less time searching the internet for the answers for their assignment and will have more time studying.

KG, who is currently enjoying her trip in Hongkong and Macau is having a contest in her blog.

The mechanics: you simply have to create a post stating three of your favorite places that you have traveled to and three places you dream of going to. They can be anywhere in the Philippines or the world. You may also provide a brief explanation as to why these are your favorite places and why you dream of going to these places.

Now for the 3 best places that I traveled to:

♠ Coron and Culion Palawan. My first plane ride destination was in Coron, Palawan and that was in 2002. We headed to Culion then to perform some work related assignments. It was also my first time to see beautiful corals in just 15 feet deep water in Culion.

♠ Calauit Island. My first trip to the zoo was in Calauit Island as well as my first time to see different kinds of animals including giraffe, zebra and a whole lot more.

♠ Boracay. The white beach, the party at night and the friendly people made my trip in Boracay memorable.

And for the 3 places that I dream of going to:

♠ Hongkong. Simple because I really wanted to go to Hongkong Disneyland .

♠ Bohol. I only saw chocolate hills in the pictures and that made me want to go there and see it before my eyes. And also want to see tarsier.

♠ Carabao Island. I actually saw this place featured in television last weekend and it made me wish to visit this place and compare it to the beauty of Boracay.

Yeah, I’m done with my list. Now, go and make your own list.

my christmas wish list

I love writing my wish list because it gives me the guide and inspiration to work hard to be able to achieve or have all those things in my list. Sometimes genie and/or santa claus give me some rewards and grant my wishes. Though sometimes along the way or as time goes by, my likes or interest change, giving me a shift of things in my list. Like for example in the wish list that I made few months ago, I was so lucky to have and read some of the books written by Bob Ong, a complete set of the twilight series and some books of Sophie Kinsella. Though I was not able to have any book of Jennifer Weiner, I was able to have books by Paulo Coelho and Sidney Sheldon. These two authors captured my interest and made me forgot some of the books listed in my wish list including those of Weiner.

Today, one month before christmas, I want to create my Christmas wish list.

Of course, I know that some of the stuffs in my wish list are really just WISHES and I know that I am not rich enough to buy all these. But who knows, if santa claus might just land on our house and deliver some of these gifts to me. And as like as what Napoleon Hill quote:
“When your desires are strong enough you will appear to possess superhuman powers to achieve.”

a new mailbox for me please!

Oh yeah, today I would like to take time to say thank you very much to all the people who have been loving me and giving me an inspiration to move on and encouraging me to achieve everything that I want in life. Thank you also to all the blogging friends who have been very nice and supportive to me. You guys made me happy to the next level. Thank you for the understanding that you’ve been giving to me.

Through the years, I already received a lot of mails and gifts from the people close to my heart and from the friends that I’ve only met online. Life is really full of surprises and I really love it. Even on no special occasions my family and friends sent some loots to our office mailboxes for me (because that’s the address I gave to them). And that made me ecstatic knowing that I am just remembered and loved.

Since Christmas time is here and that our office mailbox is starting to get more and more mails for the holiday season, I think it’s better to get my very own wall mount mailbox at home. Besides we really need one mailbox for all our monthly bills and some other important communications. What do you think peeps?

Oh, how time flies so fast. It’s already hump day today. Thirty seven (37) days more to go before Christmas. But I feel so tired. I am stressed. I am already burnout. I need a break. I need a vacation to unwind.

I am exhausted but I can’t quit. I know that soon everything will go back to normal. And I also know that despite and inspite of all the challenges and hardship that I am going through right now, I am still very lucky.

I want to share with you a story about the person that never fails to cheer me up. One day, while I am watching television at home my daughter saw me or even feel that I’m tired and I’m a little bit sad. She came to me and said:

KA: Mama, happy ka?
Me: Tahimik lang.
KA: Love mo ako? Bati tayo?
Me: Opo syempre. Love kita at bati rin tayo.
KA: Sige, bigyan kita pera.
Me: Magkano?
KA: Fifty million.
Me: Ha? Ano gagawin natin sa pera?
KA: Bibili tayo sasakyan. Uwi tayo kay lola at kay lolo. Pasyal tayo. Saka kain tayo sa jollibee. Ngiti ka na Mama.

I was shocked. Sobrang daldal na ng anak ko. Pero sobrang nakakatuwa at nakakataba ng puso. With her, I know I am very lucky and I have enough reason to thank God.

On the other note, I already changed my name here. Wala lang, feel ko lang. I’m bored na kasi. Even with my current theme parang nagsasawa na rin ako, so naghahanap na rin ako ng new theme that will suit my taste and mood right now.

some reasons for my absence

Internet connection problem. For the past few days, I cannot log in to my blogger account. Something popped up and said that I am unauthorized because they found me sexy (despite me being so chubby) LOL. I mean they said that the content of my blog was categorized as sexy which I don’t understand why.

Work. Routine work. A lot of works. Boss na pabago-bago ang decision. Boss na walang pakialam kung nakabreak ka. Boss na parang lahat urgent kahit hindi naman. That made me so exhausted lately.

Family. My daughter got sick again. And that’s enough reason to loss my sanity. She had LBM for more than a week. And she had fever for two days. It’s normal naman daw kasi tumutubo pa ang kanyang ngipin. But seeing her sick makes me worry a lot and makes me wish sana ako nalang.

OTHER. On the lighter side, vampire attacks me again. And I am so excited na to watch the new moon. I am an Edward-Bella fan. But after watching the trailer and pictures of Jacob and Bella, it made me love their team up also. Jacob is handsome din pala. Hehehe. So, kahit si Jacob na ang makatuluyan ni Bella eh ok lang. But of course, mas masaya kung kami nalang ni Jacob ang magkakatuluyan. *awoooooooooh* LOL.

These are the pasalubong that my in-laws brought 2 weeks ago.

They know how fond I am with the native slippers like these. But sad to say, they are small and I can’t use it. I asked my sister if these will fit her but she said it’s too small for her too.

So, I’ll just put these in my collection of gifts to be given away this coming Christmas.

►Friends excuse me again for my long silence. A lot of works are still waiting at my desk. But hopefully my workload will go back to normal soon. *crossing my fingers here*. I haven’t get enough energy and inspiration to write and update my blog but please allow me to share some updates in bullet just to let you know that I am still here, safe, alive and kicking.

►For the past few weeks, I was too tired that I can’t even open my email or I was just too lazy to go online. And my only entertainment is to read the books of Coelho and Sheldon while waiting at the FX terminal or waiting for the hubby to come home.

►Typhoon Ondoy, scared me to death. Hubby and I were trapped in Quezon City while our daughter and my sister were left home in Rizal. Lumabas pa kasi kami because I had to render overtime while the hubby needs to bring the car at the casa along Quezon Avenue. Laking pagsisi namin lalo na ng malaman naming nagoverflowed na pala ang river near our subdivision and it was impossible for us to go home. Good thing, walang masamang nangyari sa aming naiwan sa bahay.

►After the typhoon, my boss accepted another assignment sa kabila ng patung-patong na projects na nakaassigned sa unit namin which is to take charge in the relief operation. And I was tasked to man it above my daily workload. I can’t complain though dahil kahit sa ganoong paraan man lang eh gusto ko rin makatulong.

►During typhoon Pepeng dala na rin ng phobiang duloy ni Ondoy walang ni isa man sa bahay ang lumabas. Lahat kami nasa bahay lang nagmomonitor sa latest updates. Also we prepared food, flashlights, candles and everything na kakailanganin naming just in case lumakas ang bagyo.

►This week, I am still busy but I will try my best to visit and read your updates. So, that’s it friends. Hope you are all safe. And thanks everyone for all your prayers, wishes and understanding. I LOVE YOU ALL! *mwuah*

Hello friend. Hello world. Hello universe. Hello everybody.

September is the busiest month for all of us in the department/unit. A lot of activities are simultaneously happening. We were actually obliged to render overtime most of the time just to finish everything. For the whole week last week, I went home late at night. And report to work on a weekend as well. Grabe, Nakakastress! Nakakadrain! But I had no choice because that was part of my work. And besides, hindi naman sa lahat ng oras ganito kadami ang workload ko.

A very busy schedule made me lost my sanity and made me miss a lot of things. I miss playing with my daughter because she was already asleep when I reached home. I miss bloghopping. I miss current updates from you friends. I miss my farm. I can’t even recall the last time I visited there. I miss plurking. I miss taking nap during lunch break. I miss reading books. And above all, I miss you all friends.

A vacation in Myrtle Beach Resort!

I was very busy lately that I had to render overtime for the whole week and went home late at night. That made me feel so drained and I really wanted to unwind. And one thing that comes out into my mind is to stay at least a week in a beach.

In my previous work, we spent two weeks on a beach. It was one of those memorable moments in my life. We went swimming and island hopping. We really had so much fun.

Now, that I am stressed I am planning to go to the beach again. Although there are lots of beautiful beaches here in the Philippines, I want to go out of the country to make it different. I want to have a trip to Myrtle Beach Resort. It is a coastal resort in Horry Country, South Carolina, United States. Aside from Myrtle Beach Resorts and Myrtle Beach Hotels, there are different stores and malls there where I can go shopping. And I think I am going to enjoy my stay there.

Today is a holiday because of Eid ul-Fitr. Although, i was requested to report to work today, i decided to stay home because i am not feeling well. Sumasakit kasi ang aking left eye.

Gold Coin as an additional collection!

I am the type of person that really don’t want to keep things when I feel like I will not going to use them. Things might simply goes to the trash can or when things can still be use I rather give them to people whom I think really appreciate it or will going to use it than keeping it in my stockroom.

But when I discovered things about my collections of keychain last year, I felt very happy thinking the stories behind each of them. And as I told you my favorite among them is the one from Spain and my second favorite is the gold one or the one which is gold platted from Cambodia.

Then lately, I found myself busy collecting books which are usually a chic literature or a romance novel. They are my comfort when I am very stress at work.

And as of this moment, as I am browsing the net I saw some gold coins being offered for sale. I can’t help myself imagining having that gold coins in my very own hand or at least a single gold coin in my wallet as my lucky charm.

Today is a special day for me.

Today I celebrate my birthday.

Today I want to thank God for all the blessings that He showered upon me. My life is not perfect because there were moments of struggle and sadness but it molded me into a better person.

Today I want to thank God for my wonderful family, my fantastic friends, my loving husband and my smart daughter.
