Let us rise up and be thankful,
for if we didn’t learn a lot today,
at least we learned a little,
and if we didn’t learn a little,
at least we didn’t get sick,
and if we got sick,
at least we didn’t die;
so, let us all be thankful.

tag: 6 things that make me happy

Jeanny over starting a new life too tagged me with this. Thanks for the tag sis.

Here’s my answer:

my adorable daughter. Do I still need to explain further? Isn’t it obvious that she is the primary source of my happiness? She is my life and my inspiration to live and have a better life.

my husband. He is a very kind and very understanding person. I know he loves and cares for me so much. He is always there besides me all the time even during the times that I have tantrums. I am just so lucky to have him as my husband.

my family. Though I came from a broken family, I can say that I am still happy and lucky enough to have them. They are very supportive in all the decision that I made in life. They never force me to do anything instead they gave me freedom to live the life that I want to have. And I know that they are all proud of me.

my friends. who are always there when I need someone to cry on and always willing to be with me through thick and thin.

your comments. Reading your comments in my post make me happy. Knowing that there are people who spend some of their quality time reading my post and let me know what they think about it inspired me a lot.

freebies. Who will not be happy receiving free items/goodies? Anything free makes me happy. No matter how small or big it is.

YES! I’m done.

There are other things that still make me happy but since the tag only asked me to list down six, I think I better stop here. LOL

I am not tagging anyone but if you want to do it, please let me know. I am happy to read your answer.

a new twilight reader here

{image credit}
Twilight had been the most popular topic over the blogosphere these days.

I am really intrigued. What does these people are talking about? I can’t relate. I haven’t read any book of the twilight series and I never have a copy at hand.

So last week, I searched for an e-book of this twilight series. Thanks God, somebody shared them for free. Thank you so much! Sorry, I already forgot the link but I left an anonymous comment on his site before I closed it.

Now, I challenge myself to finish reading them at least one e-book before the year end.

Good luck to me.

thank you very much!

... redlan for this very beautiful art work.

Thank you too for featuring me in your blog.

I am so flattered and very happy that you considered me as one of your friends.

I also thank the Lord for giving me the direction on how I got there in your site.

God really knows that you are indeed a very nice person.

You have a very kind soul. A very talented person. A friend for keeps. An inspiration. You really made other people feel happy.

As I recall, it was early September of this year when I first stumbled upon your blog and read about your “pictorial session” post. It was a time also that I got an interest and the courage to leave my first ever comment on your post. From then, I started visiting your blog everytime I’m online but I never leave a comment again until such time that I joined the smart prepaid card guessing game and won.

Again, thank you very much.

This one really made my day.

happy monday everyone!

what do i love about blogs?

Blogging is so addictive. It is also therapeutic. It is an outlet where we can put all our ideas, rants, opinions, feelings and everything that we need to write. It is also a venue to gain new friends.

But what do I love about blogs? What makes me add them at my blogroll? What makes me come back more often?

Find it here, in no particular order:

I love blogs that have good & quality posts. My primary reason why I decided to blog is to practice and improve my writing skills. Reading quality writings from others really help me a lot. It also made me think of any good topic to write about and share over the blogosphere.

I love blogs that inspire. When I am so down and blue, reading blogs that focuses on the positive side of life inspires me to go on with my life. It made me realized that I also have so many things to thank for. I love blogs that inspire me to explore or try new things. Or blogs that make me want to be better me.

I love blogs when I can relate to their post. It is like I feel so homey. It is something that made me ask myself, “Am I the one talking?”

I love blogs that are so friendly in nature as well as friendly bloggers. Friendly blogs and bloggers seem to attract more readers, right? Making friends with my fellow bloggers is my greatest achievement in my blogging life.

I love blogs that have great photography. I love visiting blogs that have pictures. Picture speaks a thousand words. It also made me see the wonders and beauty of the world. And it made me travel virtually to different places.

I love blogs that are informative. Blogs that give tips and advises catch my attention. I love being introduced to new ideas. I love to find things that are applicable to my own life. And I really love to learn more in life.

I love funny blogs and funny bloggers. I love to laugh. Laughter is the best medicine. Blogs with good sense of humor really rock! Good read when all things around me seem to be so serious.

And I love the blogging community as a whole. It is really great.

Now, I give you the time to share what do you love about blogs? I am so happy to hear it from you.

the weekend trips

saturday: the divisoria trip

originally, hubby and i planned to leave the house early at 6:00 o'clock in the morning to avoid traffic and lots of people there in divisoria. but since it was weekend, laziness striked us and we woke up late. we were able to leave the house at around 7:30 am.

when we were there, we found out that the place was no longer flooded with people unlike before. maybe because people are still do not have the money for their christmas shopping since bonuses are not yet release.

we also discovered that the prices there is almost the same or with only small difference with the prices at the mall. so we just bought stuff for the baby and for us too. and we will buy other things after the release of our bonus.

saturday, was a sunny day. it was so hot. so hubby, decided that we better got home before noon time and before the migraine strikes me.

sunday: the tripping day

we were so lucky because the developer & our agent provided us free ride to and from the vicinity.
they fetched us at around 9:00 o'clock in the morning near our residence. and after around 45 minutes we were able to reached our destination.
but when we arrived there, we were not allowed to enter to the place where our soon to be new home is located because the constructions are still on-going.

but they assured us that our unit was already finished. that row of houses from far far away is a proof. one among those build houses is soon to be ours.

here's another look, taken from the clubhouse overlooking area.

and this will be our neighbors. our unit is situated at phase 1 and the picture below is on phase 2. houses there are already occupied.

since we were not able to go inside our house, let's take a look at their model unit - the bianca house.

here is the front view. the man standing at the front door was one of the prospect buyers. and he doesn't know that this picture will be uploaded to the internet. harharhar

this one is the view from the back. and hey, why this man suddenly appeared when i clicked the camera.

before we enter the house, let's take a look at the floor plan. it looks like this.

{photo from here}

now let's go inside. let us take a look on how our bare house will look like when they will turn over it to us. our kitchen will look like this.

the look of our toilet and bath. that was locked so i was not able to take a picture inside.

another shot for the kitchen and the toilet and bath area. urghh... she suddenly passed by.

this one will be part of the room. actually, this area just have the provission for two bedrooms.

part of the roof.
and this will be our clubhouse. the place where we can have our gatherings. and probably K.A.'s next birthday party will be held on this place.

of course at the clubhouse we will have the kiddie pool.

and the pool for the adults.

and this is the selling area. the people at the picture are actually the prospect buyers and their agents. this was taken after we feasted on our free lunch. yes! the developer provides food to their clients and agents.
sorry guys, i am not good in narrating stories. but i hope that you are able to get what i am trying to say.

more pictures, when we already move to that place. as of this time, we are still waiting for my loan to be take-out from pag-ibig funds. and i am expecting it to happen on the first week or maybe on the second week of december so we can move in early next year.

happy weekend

i can now feel the spirit of christmas.

this morning, this christmas tree greeted me as i enter the office.

uhmmm ... happy! but of course i will be happier if they will give us our bonus. hehehe.

***

anyway, tomorrow is weekend again. hubby and i are planning to go to divisoria and buy something to wrap for the christmas season.

on sunday, we are planning to go tripping and see our soon to be new home. i will share to you some pics next week.

an experience at the not so "great eastern hotel"

last sunday, while most of the people enjoyed their family day, i assisted at the training conducted by our office. that pilot training lasted until tuesday afternoon. the venue - the not so "great eastern hotel". why i said so? just because they really have poor service.
the hotel served our food late.

their service was so slow. one time, we had fried chicken for our dinner. they did not served us sauce or even ketchup. so what i did, i requested from the waiter, but before the ketchup arrived the fried chicken were gone. hahaha...

next day, i requested my running balance so i just know how much money i need to request from the office. i do not want to bring bulk of money there and i only want to request enough cash for our additional charges. anyway, i paid them in full the contracted price for the minimum guaranteed participants that we agreed upon. but hey, they was not able to give to me the information that i needed. the person in-charge told me to go back the next day at 8:00 o'clock in the morning. as obedient as i can, i go back the following day. but still, i got nothing. later that day, i asked the same information from the personnel in-charge in our room, to their supervisor and even to the sales manager but to no avail. i was so mad at that time.

while i was trying to comfort myself, i took this picture. i said to myself, maybe that car beside that tree was feeling lonely or maybe feeling so mad too. lol. what do you think?

later in the afternoon, when our event were done and the feeling of madness was gone too, i go back to the front desk and asked this time for our final bill. know what? they still do not have the information/bill yet. how unefficient they are? this time, i told them, ok fine if you were not able to provide me the information on how much i owe you. i'll gonna go home. just call me if you are ready! you guys know my office number anyway. then suddenly, they rushed my bills.

oh, come on! will you please improve your service.

for a change

Sorry for my absence.

Just like you, I am still so busy right now. Actually, I can’t figure out yet where to start. I have lots of deadlines.

For a change, let us try to do this:

Try to make at least one person happy every day. If you cannot do a kind deed, speak a kind word. If you cannot speak a kind word, think a kind thought. Count up, if you can, the treasure of happiness that you would dispense in a week, in a year, in a lifetime!
--Lawrence G. Lovasik--

My first target is to make my baby happy everyday because every time I saw her happy I felt so happy too.

Simple things made her happy anyway.

Look at her – she was so happy!

my goals for CY 2009

{ photo credit}

We now only have 55 more days to go for calendar year 2008. How time flies?

I think it is now time to set my goals and aspirations for the coming year. Am I too early for that? Well, we all know that we can set our goals anytime of the year. There is no late or too early for that. Today is the right time to start everything.

What do I want to achieve next year?

Here are my goals and aspirations so far:

First, I want to enroll for a refresher course this coming June 2009. Review class will no longer work for me this time because it’s been 8 years since I graduated from college and I know that there are lots of new accounting guidelines released. I want to take the board examination and have my professional license. I know it is my fault. Procrastination… procrastination… procrastination. My willingness to work and help my family overpowered my willingness to take a review class and have my license.

Just a little flashback, when I was still single, I told myself I need to be a CPA before I turned 30 years old. But I got married at the age of 27, so there are changes in my plans. This time I have a husband to consult about it. When he finally gave me the permission to go back to school, I got pregnant. Again, that affects my decision to pursue my plan. So I just told myself, I’ll go for it when my time permits me to do so. And next year, I think is the right time to start pursuing my dream.

Second, I want to develop better time management. Married life is really not easy. I really have to manage my time. I now have a husband and a daughter who need my love and care. I have a home to clean. Work to do. I also have to take time for myself and enjoy. And I need time to prepare myself for my next career steps.

Third, I’ll start improving our first own home. Our loaned house still needs some improvements.

Fourth, I want to have a car. Hubby and I are planning to buy our own car. Traveling by land to the province via public utility bus for more than twelve hours is very much difficult this time. We now have our daughter to be with us on our travel and I don’t want her to suffer the discomfort of traveling by bus.

Last but not the least; I want to improve my blog. I want to have a blog post daily. With that, I can practice more my writing skills.

So far, those are my plans for next year. I hope and I pray that I will be able to achieve them.

My understanding and lovable husband, my adorable daughter, my supportive parents & siblings, my trusted & loyal friends, and my fantastic blogger friends are my inspiration in achieving my goals.

How about you? What do you want to achieve next year?

seven dont's after a meal

While my mind is still pre-occupied with lot of things to do, let me share to you these important reminders that were emailed to me.

Here they are the seven don’t’s after a meal:

♥Do not smoke after a meal!
Experiments from experts prove that smoking a cigarette after a meal is comparable to smoking TEN cigarettes. (Chances of cancer are higher.)

♥Do not eat fruits immediately after meals.
It will bloat your stomach. Therefore, have your fruits one or two hours before or after your meal.

♥Do not drink tea after a meal as tea leaves contain a high content of acid.
This substance will cause the protein content in the food we consume to be hardened; making it difficult to digest.

♥Do not loosen your belt after eating.
Loosening the belt after a meal can cause intestinal problems.

♥Do not bathe after eating.
Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs and body thereby causing the amount of blood around the stomach to decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.

♥Do not walk after a meal even though you have heard people say that after a meal, walking a hundred steps will make you live till 99.
Walking immediately after a meal will make it difficult for the digestive system to absorb the nutrition from the food we eat. Wait at least an hour after your meal and then walk if you want to.

♥Do not sleep immediately.
The intake of food will not be able to digest properly thereby leading to gastro-intestinal problems.

Have a nice day everyone!
