just want to share

Just got these Christian cartoons at my email. And I want to share them with you. Enjoy reading!

why oh why LBC

Last Friday evening, my mother-in-law called me. She told me that the father of my babysitter, I mean K.A’s yaya, asked some money for an emergency use to her daughter. K.A.’s yaya asked me if she can borrow money from me and give it to her father. Of course, I can’t say no to her because her father badly needed the money. So, I asked my MIL if she can just give money to him and I promised that I’ll going to send her money on Monday.

Monday, January26, like what I promised to her, I sent money through LBC pesopak 24-hours door-to-door delivery. I sent the certain amount of amount that I owed her. I also included the budget for the bus fare of the two construction workers we hired and extra money for my MIL too. Before I leave the LBC counter, I asked the LBC personnel on how long will it take just to make sure. May pagkasegurista din naman kasi ako. I paid their service charge for 24-hours delivery na nga eh tapos nagtatanong pa. hehehe

Tuesday, I called my MIL to ask if she receive the money but she told me that it hasn’t arrived yet.

Today, Wednesday, after almost 48 hours had past, I called again my MIL just to confirm. And she told me that the money still hasn’t arrived. Medyo nakakapang-init na ata ng ulo. As far as I know, nagbayad naman ata ako ng tamang service charge. Nakakaloko. Oh by the way, their rate is P140 per P1000 for 24-hours door-to-door delivery and P95 per P1000 for 48-hours door-to-door delivery.

Immediately after that conversation, I visited LBC website and sent my complaint to their customer service. I really want to know the reason why it takes so long.

I am really disappointed. *ngrrrrr*

*******************************
Update: My MIL got the money. And the LBC representative emailed me and said that they delivered the money at my brother-in-law's residence/store and that my BIL received it in behalf of my MIL.

the good and the not-so-good news

Good news: January 10, 2009- the developer turned-over to me the house and the house keys.

Right now I am preparing all the requirements needed in applying for a renovation permit. And that's keeping me busy this time. I am praying to have the permit before the end of January and to start the constructions as soon as possible.
☻☻☻
Not-so-good news: January 21, 2009 – the palace announced the cabinet revamp. Meaning we will have a new boss by next month. Panibagong adjustments na naman ito. *sigh*

What's Your Inner Color?

Your Inner Color is Blue

Your Personality: Your natural warmth and intuition nurtures those around you. You are accepting and always follow your heart.

You in Love: Relationships are your top priority, and this includes love. You are most happy when you are serious with someone.

Your Career: You need to help others in your job to feel satisfied. You would be a great nurse, psychologist, or counselor.

my keychain collection

I do not have the intention to collect keychain but i realized it few days ago that I already have few keychains in my drawer. I love to see them and think of the story behind each of them.

It all started here:

a keychain given to my hubby by his unit mate. This one holds our house keys.

A keychain with the image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. This one holds our house keys duplicate. I bought this from Antipolo church and made it blessed. It is always in my bag coz I believe that She will protect me wherever I go.

a mother and child keychain which holds my drawer keys.

A keychain from Cebu which holds the house keys of someone close to my heart.

Another keychain with different design from Antipolo

A bullet design keychain, given to me by hubby in his desperation/frustration to buy gun. (kontrabida kasi ako eh)

A keychain from a Chinese-Filipino friend/cousin

A smiley keychain

I also have keychain from other countries:

A couple of koala bears from Australia

Another keychain from Australia

keychain from Cambodia

And my favorite is from Spain

I know they are not expensive one but I really like them so much. And I think I’ll continue to collect different designs and if possible more keychain from other countries.

blog love: from across the miles

Yes, my secret Santa who seemed to be a no secret at all to me since December 19 last year is from New Zealand. Her name is Nicola. She spoiled the holiday thrill because she was so worried about the package she sent to me. She told me in her e-mail last December that she sent the parcel sometimes last week of November yet she doesn’t hear anything about it from me. But I told her in my reply that her package might just trap and delayed due to the volume of packages sent in time for the holiday season.

Last Friday, January 9, the notice about the parcel finally arrived. Upon reading the notice, I immediately run to claim my parcel at the central post office which I know that it is from her. I was so excited about it.

Though the package arrived late, I can say that it’s worth my wait. I so love everything that she sent to me. Thank you very much sweetie!

Come, let’s see what I got:
a Christmas card, a kiwi Christmas decoration and chocolates
☺☺☺
On the other hand, this beautiful postcard from Abu Dhabi arrived together with the parcel notice I mentioned earlier.
This one came from the ever thoughtful and sweet lady, Ms. Jo, of witsandnuts. Jo, maraming salamat mula sa kaibuturan ng aking puso.

You guys really made me happy. I love you ladies.

personal highlights 2008

{photo credit}

It’s my first time to look back and write about the personal highlights for the past year just for the purpose of reflection and memory keeping.

First Quarter

♥ Since my mother left us when I was only 11 years old, I don’t have any chance to meet my cousins and uncles/aunties on her side except for her younger sister who became K.A’s first nanny and her younger brother who accompanied her in the house on the day that she bid goodbye to us. I knew them by their names but I do not have any idea on how do they look like. Last year, marked the difference because I was able to see their pictures for the first time. I was able to talked with them too because my mother gave my number to them and I was able to know them better. Though I haven’t met them in person, I know that someday soon we are going to visit them.
♥ My mother visited us for the first time here in Manila and stayed with us for few days.

Second Quarter
♥ My father and my brothers also visited us and stayed with us for a week after my mother’s visit.
♥ K.A celebrated her first birthday last April.
♥ I was inspired and decided to continue my blog last May.
♥ My auntie, K.A’s first baby sitter left us and made us miss her so much.
♥ We found another baby sitter for K.A. That made me paranoid for the first few months. The time for adjustments for all of us.

Third Quarter
♥ I got my first Nokia camera phone as hubby’s birthday gift to me. And at the same time, my mother-in-law traveled just to be with us on my birthday.

Fourth Quarter

♥ After 64 years, I mean, more that a year of waiting, our housing loan was finally approved. But I still don’t have the house key. The key turn-over ceremony and the orientation will be on Saturday, January 10.
♥ My family informed me that my younger brother is going to get married this coming April 2009.

I'm thankful to God for everything.

Now, I am starting my life for 2009 with lots of hope and love in my heart.

Blog love: thank you!

Just like you I am also busy catching up my deadlines. But I still have until January 15 to finish tons of work at my desk. Good luck to me!

Before the day end, I would like to say thank you to all the people who remembered me and greeted me last Christmas and New Year. You guys made me happy.

Special thank goes:

To shai coggins for these early Christmas gift.

To jeanny for this pretty and yummy looking Christmas card. I got this before I take the long holiday break.

And of course, thank you to sheng for these beautiful Christmas card and necklace. I got these two days before I go back to work. Just timing to cheer up my spirit and be ready again to face tons of work at the office.

Also, I would like to extend my thank you to purple ink who always be a very special person to me, to redlan, to iluvgreen, to mel, to nance, to dong, to spool artist, to witsandnuts, to miss firefly, to javaqueen, to toni, to at wits end, to ibyang, to nicola, to the girl with the curl, to caryn, and to all the lovely guys who left comments in my post. Thank You!
By Joanna Fuchs

I really appreciate you,
Your helpful, giving ways,
And how your generous heart
Your unselfishness displays.

I thank you for your kindness,
I will not soon forget;
You’re one of the nicest people
I have ever met.

I love you all…. Mwuah!

quick hello & the awards

Happy New Year everyone! I miss you all guys. Sorry but I’m still coping with the holiday break hang-over.

For the meantime, let me share to you my inspirational quote for the day:

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.

~~Henri Nouwen~~

On the other side let me say thank you very much to Jeanny for passing these awards. It’s my honor to received such award from you.

Now it's my turn to pass these awards to sheng, iluvgreen, nance and mel.
